Compensation Policy

Behavioral Health Connecticut (BHC) employees, consultants, and network practitioners are solely compensated on a salaried or fee-for-service basis and receive no incentives or bonuses of any kind that would encourage underutilization.

BHC affirms that:

1. Utilization management decisions are based only on appropriateness of care.

2. BHC does not reward practitioners or individuals conducting utilization review for issuing denials of service or coverage.

3. Compensation practices do not encourage decisions that result in underutilization.
